The Roaring Lion Newcastle Submission Guidelines

We welcome submissions from both new and established writers at The Roaring Lion Newcastle. While we publish all genres, our current submission window is open for fiction submissions only. So If you have a compelling story to tell, we’d love to hear from you.

Please read through these guidelines carefully before submitting. We aim to respond to all submissions within 5–7 months.

What We’re Looking For 

We are looking for strong narratives with engaging plots and well-developed characters. All genres of fiction are welcome including: - Collections of short stories - Novellas - Novels.

How to Submit

We only accept submissions via email. Please follow these steps to submit your manuscript:

1. Cover Letter:

   Include a brief cover letter in the body of your email. This should introduce yourself, your       project, and the word count of your manuscript. Keep it simple and to the          point.

2. Manuscript Sample:

    Attach 2–3 sample chapters or up to 10,000 words from your manuscript. Ensure the file is      double-spaced and in a readable font.

3. Synopsis:

    Provide a 500–1,000 word synopsis that outlines the full story. This should give us a clear        sense of the plot, major events, and characters.

4. Book Proposal:

    Include a brief proposal that explains the broader vision of your book, if relevant. This              helps us understand your project’s scope and potential audience.

Format

Submit your documents as Word or PDF files. Please name your files in this format: [Your Book’s Title]–[Your Name] For example: “The Forgotten Lands–Jane Smith”

Response Time 

We carefully consider every submission and will respond within 5–7 months. We kindly request your patience during this period and ask that you refrain from sending follow-up emails.
