Chukwuemeka Famous

is a Nigerian writer and academic whose work spans fiction, essay writing and literary criticism. A recipient of the Ebedi International Writers Residency, his writing has been shortlisted for several awards including the 2025 Moon City Awards, Quramo Writers Prize (2020) and the Bold Call Writing Contest (2022). His debut novel “We Will Live Again” was named one of the top sixty notable African books by Open Country Mag, marking him as a distinct new voice in African literature. In addition to his fiction, Chukwuemeka’s essay “Departures” published in The Republic, was named one of the Top 50 Notable Essays from Africa by Afrocritik in 2024, showcasing his skill in crafting deeply reflective and incisive prose that resonates beyond borders. 

 

In 2024, he co-authored “Poles Apart”, a cross-continental collaborative novel published in Bulgaria and Japan, an experiment in narrative across borders and languages.
